Jay Rosen is the chair of the journalism department at New York University, the author of "What Are Journalists For?," and the author and creator of PressThink (www.pressthink.org), which won the 2005 Reporters Without Borders Freedom Blog Award for the Americas. As a press critic and reviewer, his writing has appeared in "The New York Times," "The Washington Post," the "Los Angeles Times," and "The Nation," He lives in New York City.
