Carol A. Romano, PhD, RN, C, CNAA, FAAN, is Deputy Chief, Department of Clinical Research Informatics, Clinical Center, at the National Institutes of Health. She has an undergraduate degree in Nursing, a graduate degree in Administration/Nursing, and a PhD with a focus on Operations Analysis/Informatics from the University of Maryland. Dr. Romano is also a Commissioned Officer with the senior rank of Captain in the Nurse Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service.
