Although the author was not a pilot, she has flown in every type of aircraft including a open-cockpit Bi-plane and has always loved to fly. Her brother was a pilot of a B-17 in WWII and she wrote a book titled, "Letters From My Brother" about growing up during that time. Her interest in the WASP program grew when she volunteered as a docent in the Lyon Air Museum near her home.
