In all cases where I am able, I deal in terms of empirical data; if I can t find proofs, evidences (even circumstantial) or other connections to related areas then even commonly held beliefs can be held in contempt, or out-and-out scorned. One rule that I have applied in terms of discerning what is what among people is that if I awake and find snow on the ground, while last night there was none, then I feel that it is perfectly okay to be steadfast in the opinion that it snowed last night.
