Timothy C. Richards is a former detective with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He served in the Intelligence Unit investigating organized criminal groups (Mafia) the Drug Enforcement Administration Federal Drug Task Force, and the Homicide Section. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri St. Louis. He also has written the true crime book, "Crooks Kill, Cops Lie" (The true story of the St. Louis Mobster Wars) and "Superman's Eyes" (Six true and Sordid Stories About Big-City Cops) which occurred in the Central West End corridor of the city of St. Louis in the 1970's. He has
