Charles Hillard Calahan served as 81st Grand Master of Masons in Virginia in 1924 and 1925. His book "Washington, the Man and Mason." has been widely read and is considered a classic, not only in writings on Freemasonry, but also American history. In 1944, shortly before his death, a marble bust of Calahan was unveiled at the George Washington Masonic Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia, where it still resides.
