Daisy Chun Rhodes was born on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. She attended local schools, including the University of Hawaii, Foothill College in California, and earned her BA from Eckerd College, Florida where she also worked with Dr. James Michener who wrote "Hawaii" among many books. Her writings include "Passages to Paradise: Early Korean Immigrant Narratives from Hawaii" which was well received. Her writings also appeared in "Yobo: Korean American Writing in Hawaii, Echoes upon Echoes: New Korean American Writings," "A Literary Lei," "Hawaii Review" and "Red Dirt."
