Lara Reznik grew up on Long Island in the fifties and sixties, attending many Yankee games with her father and Uncle Sol during her childhood. At ten years old, she saw Roger Maris hit his sixty-first home run. In the early seventies she escaped to New Mexico push-starting a Kharman Ghia cross-country. As an English major at the University of New Mexico, Lara studied under esteemed authors Rudolfo Anaya and the late Tony Hillerman.
