Thomas Antonaccio wrote The Generosity of Strangers: When War Came to Fornelli after visiting his mother's hometown in Italy's Molise region. For his mother, the Generosity of Strangers was the relationship her family built with the US soldiers who liberated her town during WWII. For Thomas, 'the Generosity of Strangers' was the warmth and hospitality he received from the people in Fornelli over the past several years, from the first time he visited the tiny hilltop village in 1996. He currently lives in Arizona and works for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
