Charlotte Raff was born in Mundesly, a little village on the coast of Norfolk, England in 1931. After finishing school she went on to become an elementary teacher. She discovered a talent for story telling which she continued to develop after the birth of the first of her four children. After the untimely death of her husband in 1960 she returned to teaching to support her family. She finally retired in 1999 and now spends her time writing children's stories and playing with her 16 great, great, great, grandchildren.
