Yasmeen Christian is an African American woman author of children's literature. The Los Angeles, California native attended Fisk University. As an undergraduate she was told by professors she should write for children because of the simple lyrical quality of her poetry. First, she wrote A Holiday Season Missing My Family. Next, she wrote and published The Day Marcie Didn't Talk To Her Friends and Ava Had A Bad Hair Day. I am Yasmeen. I am always a reader, a writer and a dreamer. Now, I am here to share stories and dream with you.
