Born and raised in Southwest Florida, at the age of 11 Courtney Purcell found his passion for wilderness during an early family visit to the Smoky Mountains. It wasn't until the age of 29, though, that he decided to pursue his dream of a full-time mountain lifestyle, which led him to relocate to Las Vegas and a lifestyle that permitted him more than 175 days a year in the mountains.
