Eschewing career building in favor of following his interests, Richard Probert spent his years teaching both music and business, conducting choruses and orchestras, writing, consulting for non-profits, and singlehanded bluewater sailing. In addition to teaching singing, conducting and related subjects at both private colleges and public universities, he has served as department and division chair, oversaw two university arts centers, was CEO of an inner-city community arts school, and regularly performed as both a conductor and as a baritone recitalist.
