A lot of readers, reviewers, and friends get a kick out of using Jo-Ann Power's last name to denote how well she writes.

When she's asked to define a "Power Romance," Jo-Ann has a quick grin and an answer: "A hero who is honorable, despite the forces pitted against him. A hero who is lovable. A man you could proudly take home to your mother," she says, indicating her model is the dashing Irish-American man she took home to her own parents twenty-nine years ago.
