Michael Posey was born in Auburn, New York, in 1958, was raised in Boca Raton, Florida, and spent the majority of his career in construction and real estate development along the Gold Coast of Florida from Miami to West Palm Beach, until he moved to Asheville, North Carolina, in 2005. Prior to moving to Asheville, Michael spent the previous ten years as the COO and VP of Development on Fisher Island, the private island of residences and resort/club amenities located just off the southern tip of Miami Beach.
