About the Authors Jim Poindexter (1947-2002) was a native of Yadkin County, North Carolina, and aspired to be a writer from an early age. Besides being an avid fisherman, he was a UNC Tarheels basketball fan as well as a fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. As a fiction editor with The Editorial Department, he was instrumental in helping new authors publish their manuscripts and also taught workshops on various aspects of writing.
