Wayne Coleman was born and spent his childhood in the county of Alpena, Michigan. His love of the outdoors and the inspiration of two conservation officers early in life led him to pursue the life of a Michigan Game Warden. His dream became a reality in 1977 upon being assigned as a Conservation Officer in Menominee County in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The path to the realization of his dream included service in the United States Army, a tour in Vietnam, and six years as a State Park ranger. Wayne enjoys the retired life in Newaygo, Michigan with his patient wife, two cats and a dog.
