Paul R. Petersen frequently lectures on the subject of the Border War between Kansas and Missouri during the Civil War. A former master sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, he is an infantry combat veteran of the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He received his A.B.A. from Longview Community College and attends Ottawa University. Petersen is a member of the William Clarke Quantrill Society, the James-Younger Gang Association, and State Historical Society of Missouri.
