Anne Pauwels is Professor of Sociolinguistics at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Her main fields of research expertise are multilingualism, especially in relation to immigrant contexts, language and gender and language policy in higher education. Her books included Communicating with Migrant Patients (1995), Women Changing Language (1998), Boys and Language Learning (2005), Language and Communication (2007) and Maintaining Minority Languages in Transnational Contexts (2007).
