THOMAS PATTLOCH, LL.M. Eur. (Munich) Dr. iur., studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich and was admitted to the German bar in 2001. He studied Chinese in Taipei (1993-1994) and joined the Max Planck Institute in 1998. After a research stay at Beijing University (1998-1999), he finished his Ph.D. on the international private law of intellectual property of the People's Republic of China in 2002, and since July 2003 has been working as an attorney-at-law for the Hamburgbased German law firm Schulz Noack Baerwinkel in Shanghai. Currently, he is chairman of the IPR working group
