Patricia Parsons has been writing professionally since the publication of her first non-fiction book in 1988 by a now-defunct Toronto trade publisher. A trade book about the ethics and politics of organ transplantation, it melded her two backgrounds: health communication and writing. Since then she has been published Doubleday Canada, the University of Toronto Press, and Wall & Emerson in Canada, Health Administration Press and Routledge in the US, and Kogan-Page in the UK.
