Michiko's interest in writing for an audience began during her first career as a compositor in the community newspaper industry. She later worked as a freelance writer while completing university studies and moving on to a long career in public health followed by teaching. She has amassed a wide range of writing experience over the years; collaborating on creative writing projects for health promotion, writing articles, advertising and marketing copy for print and radio, and producing dramatic dialogue text and short fiction for students.
