Les Page has been devising number puzzles as a hobby for almost 15 years. He was playing around with numbers on a piece of graph paper when he had that "Eureka" moment. Having put three parallel lines of numbers from 1 to 9 randomly on the graph paper he added the two top numbers in each column to produce nine totals at the top. He then repeated the action for the bottom two numbers in each column to get nine totals at the bottom. "Eureka" he shouted because he knew that his first number puzzle, "ZYGO" was born!
