A former newspaper reporter and editor, the author is currently on the faculty in the School of Communications at Elon University in North Carolina where he teaches Media Writing, Media Law & Ethics and New Ideas in Communications. In addition to the current title, Padgett is the author of a mystery novel titled Random Acts, published in 2012 and a university textbook titled New Directions in Diversity, the second edition of which is scheduled for publication by Marion Street Press in late 2014.
