Jake Owensby was consecrated as the fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Western Louisiana in 2012, after serving as dean of St. Mark's Cathedral in Shreveport. Raised among the working poor in the rural South, he went on to earn a PhD in philosophy from Emory University and taught at Jacksonville University before entering the School of Theology at Sewanee. He has served in the dioceses of Florida, Alabama, and Missouri.
