Harold Orrick was born in Temple, Texas in 1934, on a sharecropper farm. At the age of six, the farm house burnt down, my family and I was forced to move into the barn. The only thing I can say is we had a roof over our heads, even though you could see daylight through the joints of the 1 x 12 board walls. But luckily shortly after that my grandfather offered our family the opportunity to move to Fort Worth, Texas, to help manage an apartment house on Washington Street.
