James is a retired pastor and has served as a hospice chaplain for three years. He has a vast amount of experience in working with the dying and being there for those who have faced the death of a loved ones. His experience has given him not just insight into the needs of hurting people, but also a heart for them. This concern is obvious throughout this book.
