Enrique Ojembarrena Goiricelaya received the Cafe Gijon literary award in 1966 for his novel Ismael. During his stay in USA (1971-81) as University Lecturer his short stories were published in both Spanish and American magazines and a number of them have subsequently been published in anthologies.
