Pamela E Currie wrote the Gus and Barney trilogy based on real life events at her riverside home in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire while her children were growing up. She decided to publish them for her grandchildren years later and still lives in her cottage by the river with her husband, Neil and writes stories based on the wildlife surrounding them.
