Jonathan Northall was born and raised in the West Midlands (UK) in the 1970's. Ice hockey was unknown to him until the early 1990's when he received a Pittsburgh Penguins t-shirt as a present. Since then, his interest in the sport, and his chosen team, has grown. This has been exacerbated by the internet and the availability it affords fans outside of North America.
