Nieland, Dirk

Dirk Nieland (1886?) was born in the Netherlands and accompanied his parents on the long immigrant journey to Grand Rapids. He began his career in furniture manufacturing, eventually becoming an important business owner in the city. Mr. Nieland took great satisfaction in writing sketches of Dutch life in America, many of which have been collected and published in book form.
