Anke Niehof is a full-time professor at Wageningen University, the Netherlands, holding the chair of Sociology of Consumers and Households. She was trained as an anthropologist and demographer, and holds a PhD from Leiden University, the Netherlands. Since 2002 she has managed the AWLAE Project with Lisa Price, through which 19 women from 11 African countries did PhD research on themes relating to HIV and AIDS impacts on women's roles in food and livelihood systems in Africa.
