Mark Nichter is Regentsa Professor of anthropology at the University of Arizona, with joint appointments in Family and Community Medicine and Public Health. He is the author of numerous articles and books, including Anthropology and International Health: Asian Case Studies (co-authored with Mimi Nichter). He has won several awards in the field, including the Margaret Mead Award of the American Anthropological Association, and from 2000 to 2004 he served as president of the Society for Medical Anthropology.
