Ellen Myers was born in Berlin, Germany, in 1925. She is the mother of seven, grandmother of 38, and great-grandmother of four. Her mother was Jewish, and the Nazis killed most of her mother's family in the Holocaust. She is fluent in five languages and served as interpreter for top officials of the American Military Government in Germany after World War II. Ellen studied philosophy for many years and was an atheist until she became a Christian at age 35 in 1960.
