Donald F. Myers was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. On 20 February 1952 at age seventeen he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. His overseas duties include Korea, Japan, Okinawa, the China Sea and over two-years combat duty in Vietnam. He also served at the Naval Mine Depot, Yorktown, Virginia, Camp Elmore, Norfolk, Virginia, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and Camp Pendleton, California.
