Ian Patrick Murray wrote this guidebook when he was in Third Grade at Eugene Field Elementary School in Manhattan, Kansas. He drew upon the Murray Family tradition of making gingerbread houses during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. The Murray family (Ian, Jonathan and parents, Ann and John) had been making gingerbread houses with the children for about 5 years.
