Joseph M. Murphy, Takoma Park, Maryland, is the Paul J. and Chandler M. Tagliabue Distinguished Professor in Interfaith Studies and Dialogue at Georgetown University. He is the author of many works on religion including "Santeria: An African Religion in America; Working the Spirit: Ceremonies of the African Diaspora", and "Osun across the Waters: A Yoruba Goddess in Africa and the Americas", coedited with Mei-Mei Sanford.
