A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Williams recieved his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Islamic Studies in 2008. He has taught at the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and the University of Toledo, and has presented or lectured at the University of Mainz, Germany, the University of Chicago, Duke University, Emory University, Morehouse College, Spelman College and Clark Atlanta University.
