Sami Moubayed is a Syrian political analyst. He is one of the most prominent experts on pre-1963 Syria. Moubayed is based in Damascus. His book Steel & Silk includes profiles of men and women who have been important in the development of the Syrian nation. Moubayed's two previous books are titled: "The Politics of Damascus 1920-1946" and "Damascus Between Democracy and Dictatorship."
