Curtis A. Moore was for many years Republican Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. He organized the first-ever U.S. Senate hearing on global warming and wrote or helped write a wide range of U.S. laws including Superfund and the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments. Editor of the Health & Clean Air Newsletter, Moore has been honored as a "clean air champion" and has received the Haagen-Smit Award from the California Air Resources Board. A Marine veteran of Viet Nam, a free lance writer and international consultant, Moore once considered himself a Republican moderate.
