Mikasen, Marjorie

Djuro Zatezalo was born in 1931 in Donje Dubrave, Croatia, where he finished elementary school. He graduated from Teacher's College in Karlovac in 1951, and has lived there ever since. Zatezalo received his B.A. from the University of Sarajevo, and his M.A. (1969) and Ph.D. (1977) from the University of Zagreb. He has worked as a teacher, editor and writer. He founded the historic Archives of Karlovac, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1992. He is the author of 22 books and more than a hundred essays and articles.
