Melossi, Dario

Dario Melossi is professor of criminology at the University of Bologna, Italy. He is the co-author (with Massimo Pavarini) of "The Prison and the Factory: Origins of the Penitentiary System", author of "The State of Social Control: A Sociological Study of Concepts of State and Social Control in the Making of Democracy", and editor of "The Sociology of Punishment".
