Chris Bruce was born in England and educated in England, South West Africa (now Namibia) and South Africa. After a long career in the construction industry in South Africa, Namibia, Hong Kong and the Philippines, interspersed with an interest in a photographic safari business, a share in a small factory manufacturing wooden briefcases and having established two restaurants in Hong Kong, Chris moved to Thailand in 2000.
