Nicardo McLean was born in the southern Jamaican town of Mandeville. During his formative years, this self-professed "country boy" spent the greater part of each summer enjoying the peace and tranquility of rustic Grove Town while holidaying with his grandparents. These treasured childhood memories inspire most of his literary works, which often project the wholesomeness and simplicity of life in the Jamaica of yore. A graduate of the University of the West Indies' Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication, Nicardo is a copywriter by profession. He also moonlights as a voice-over artist.
