About the author Hamburg-based novelist van Deus spends summers by the sea composing stories. The Ampullae of Lorenzini is the author's third book, and the second published in 2014, following the crime novella The Steps of Evil. Van Deus' debut work, Operation Solstice Ten, appeared in 2013; the conspiracy thriller represents the first installment in the author's Triangular Files trilogy.
