Jack McCoy was born and raised in the small town of Cleburne, Texas. After high school he joined the United States Navy with hopes to see the world. Jack served his country from 1948 until August 1952, aboard the USS Tawakoni ATF-114 and USS Castor AKS-1. After leaving the Navy with various Service Ribbons, Bronze Star Medal and Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Jack graduated from Texas Christian University. Jack is now retired in Crowley, Texas with his wife Nouhad. He is very active in his church and felt compelled to use his spare time to document his life as a Tugboat Sailor.
