Gary McClure My love of golf began in Kansas at age 11 when my mother was taking group lessons from the high school golf coach. I collected range balls from the women who were hitting them under the guidance of the coach and he gave me complimentary lessons. I then started caddying for people who were playing the public nine-hole course and was paid with tips and free golf. In the summer my friends and I frequently walked and played 36 holes a day in temperatures over 100 degrees. Ben Hogan was my hero having won the PGA Championship in 1946, the first of his nine Majors. In college at the US
