Born in Chicago in 1947 I grew up with Hopalong Cassidy, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and of course John Wayne. They complicated my life immensely. Mostly because I believe the stuff they taught. I tried to emulate them doing what was right and speaking the truth as I saw it no matter the consequences. You can only imagine the trouble that got me into.
