Mayer, Bill

Bill Mayer was born in Kansas City, KS. After serving in the Army Air Corps in WWII, he returned to Kansas and earned a BS in journalism. He began with the Lawrence Journal-World in 1950, writing a regular sports column and serving throughout the years as reporter, sports editor, news editor, managing editor, executive editor and now contributing editor.
