I wrote my first short story when I was seven years old. Since I had already been devouring books for several years at that point, it was an exhilarating moment when I realized I could also write stories! After dropping out of university three times, I finally managed to stay long enough to get myself a Masters degree in English Literature, which is not a very useful degree, but did provide a lovely excuse to read incessantly for 5 years.
